Weather Much of Canada is in Earth's frigid zone and experiences severe winter weather. The rest of Canada is the Earth's north temperate zone and has more moderate four season weather.

Economy Agriculture was the main economic activity but industrialization has outstripped the land-based government to allow immigration as a method of filling worker demand.

Immigration Profile

Population At the time of the 1991 census, there were 123,300 people born in the Philippines living in Canada wherein the largest share of 50% live in Ontario.
Language Almost all immigrants from the Philippines can speak at least one official language which is English while Tagalog or Filipino was the language most spoken at home.
Employement and Education Immigrants from the Philippines are more likely to have a university degree, as such, they are more likely to be employed than all the immigrants and people born in Canada.  For example in the 1991 census, 81% of immigrant men aged 15-64 from the Philippines were employed, compared with 78% of all immigrant men and 76% of Canadian-born men were in the same age group.  There was an even larger gap in employment rates among women, where in 1991, 80% of immigrant women aged 15-64 from the Philippines were employed versus 64% of all immigrant women and 63% of Canadian-born women in the same age group.

After the assesment, applicants return to our office to accomplish and submit the following documents:
  • Filled-up IMM0008 Form to be provided by us
  • 9 pieces of immigration size pictures (35mm x 45mm)
  • Photocopy of passport (at least 18 months before expiry date)
  • Certified true copy of birth certificate
  • Certified true copy of baptismal certificate
  • Certified true copy of marriage certificate
  • Certified true copy of transcript of records
  • Certified true copy of diploma
  • Original copies of employment certificate
  • Original copies of NBI clearance (visa to Canada)
  • Two (2) sets of updated, comprehensive and detailed resume/bio-data
  • Certified true copy of course description/syllabus
  • Proof of relationship such as Citizenship card or landing document and birth certificate
  • Bank certificate
